Why I made this: I really liked Misato when I watched the original Evangelion series, and despite being a sloppy, irresponsible drunk, she’s probably the most sane of the entire cast. When my friends Maria and Amelia offered to make her coat, I finished the rest of the outfit.

Construction: The dress was drafted with altered patterns from a semi-stretchable knit, with leftover white knit as the collar lining, and because it breathes so well it’s very comfortable to wear. The manga version jacket was commissioned from Maria (ayanamirei*yay*) and Amelia out of red pleather, and I love it to death.  I found a perfect dark plum wig from InternationalWig and styled it myself, and the cross was provided by Darkain as a gift. I’d like to remake the dress in the future with a stretchier knit and bias tape though.

Personal thoughts: Very easy and comfortable to wear, why don’t I have more like this? Misato is basically a drinking outfit or something to quickly throw on at a con, but all the photos and memories from it just make me smile! As a funny side note, the photos with Teca as Ritsuko in the bar were taken when it was closed – we snuck in for some quick shots that are now my favorites!
