Pirotess Goddess
Pirotess
Series: Record of Lodoss Wars
Variation: Greek goddess dress artwork
Worn at: Fanime 2012
Why I made it: Toastersix asked me to do the goddess versions of the Lodoss elves, and while it’s just not worked out for us to wear them together, it’s an elegant and lovely costume I had to make since I had Pirotess’s wig and ears already.
Construction: The dress is a charmeuse turned inside out, patterned by me, with the light pink sash out of chiffon I found at $1/yard! All the armor parts, including the choker and chestpiece, are craft foam painted and weathered to look antique, accented with Swarovski crystals. The lace front wig is from Arda and the same I used for the other Pirotess version. Metal and leather sandles were pre-owned, and I replaced the lilies in her hair with a large hibiscus accented with crystals because I liked the art nouveau, eloquent look of it. I got the darker skin color with a couple of layers of spray tan that sets in after 1hr, topped and blended with a dark MAC bronzer. Forehead circlet made by Yunie, ears by Yaya Han, darkened by me.
Personal thoughts: I’m quite happy with how it turned out, as well as finding a faster way to do her makeup for this version, since it doesn’t look as dark, and more delicate.
