Why I made this: The design sketches I saw of her swimsuit online motivated me to try and make it for the AO swimsuit contest, and while we never actually made it to the event, I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to wear it with my cosplay partner Yunie.

Construction: Made in 2 days before Anime Oasis 2008, so I’m still wondering how that was pulled off. I’m really proud of how the design came out (a hybrid of the figurine pattern with colors from in-game scenes), the top was the most difficult part to design, trying to make it accurate and sexy, but without overly revealing. While they need to be re-adjusted a little, the hair buns are my favorite part by far, and the top’s colors were touched up for Nan Desu Kan 2008.

Personal thoughts: I’m so proud of how it came out, it’s easily one of my favorites, mostly because I’ve been meaning to make it for nearly a year, hunting down reference shots and figurines. Thank you Yunie for being my Shion, and NemoValkyria for modeling it at NDK ’08.
