Leona Heidern

Series: King of Fighters 1996

Worn at: Nan Desu Kan 2007, Anime Oasis 2008

Why I made it: I was trying to make a decision on which additional costume to tackle for Nan Desu Kan 2007, and Leona came to mind immediately. She was my favorite character from the King of Fighters franchise, and wouldn’t be difficult to make in a short amount of time.

Construction: Shirt is dyed denim, heavily altered from a Chinese shirt pattern, and the shorts were purchased and dyed to match. It was a little difficult to get a clean-cut military uniform first time trying, but so much fun, and I made it in record time before summer ended! The wig still needs some work, and will most probably be replaced.

Personal thoughts: The action poses involved with this costume are endless, I really enjoy wearing Leona, she’s likely my most comfortable costume to date. Teca as Cammy White, Yunie-chan as Chun Li.
